Christopher Andersen has written several best-selling books about Princess Diana, including The Day Diana Died and Diana's Boys. In After Diana: William, Harry, Charles and the Royal House of Windsor Andersen once again returns to the legacy of Princess Diana and the future of the British monarchy.

Andersen's writing style is relaxed and conversational, making After Diana an engaging and easygoing book to read. The book begins with Diana's end - her death on August 31, 1997 in a tragic car accident in France and her the rigamarole surrounding her funeral. From there, Andersen moves forward, describing how the lives of her ex-husband Prince Charles and their children, William and Harry have changed in the ten years since her death. He also discusses, in detail, Charles' relationship and eventual marriage with his mistress, Camilla Parker Bowles. Andersen examines the influences that shaped William and Harry into the men they have grown into. He addresses their various love interests, and personal foibles, such as Harry's imprudently dressing as a Nazi. He also discusses what the future might hold for the British Monarchy - and who might become the next king. Along the way Andersen rehashes some of the old scandals, such as the questions surrounding Harry's parentage. Namely is Charles his father? Or was it Diana's lover, James Hewitt? Andersen also addresses Queen Elizabeth's take on the whole affair - and who she want's her successor to be.

After Diana is a fascinating book, and a must-read for anyone interested in Diana's legacy - and the future of the royal family. Both keen followers of the royal family and those with just a passing interest in the subject will enjoy this book. It is full of personal insights into the royal family by those who know them best - including friends and other family members. It also includes intriguing tidbits of information into the ongoing Scotland Yard investigation into Diana's death, and the legalities surrounding the possibility of Camilla ever becoming Queen. Even if you think you already know everything there is to know about Diana and her family - you don't, and you'll be amazed to discover just how much new information Andersen has crammed into this book. From beginning to end, After Diana is an awesome, and informative book to read!
