Dealing with chronic physical pain is difficult enough if you are an adult. Imagine how much more difficult it is for a child who is unable to articulate the full extent of their pain, due either to their age or lack of experience to fully explain what they are feeling in a manner that an adult would empathetically understand. Worse, until quiet recently, children were often under-treated for pain by the medical establishment because children reacted differently and they express their pain in ways that are uniquely different from most adults. Knowing that your child is in constant pain can be both infuriating and frustrating.
