Ok, you've got yourself a guy, but is he the best that you can do? In this funny, and ofttimes biting book, J. Courtney Sullivan teaches you how to identify a schlump, and why you should dump him and find someone higher up on the ladder. Aptly titled, Dating Up: Dump the Schlump and Find a Quality Man, Sullivan clearly describes the many varieties of schlumps, from the Starving Artist type who comes saddled with mountains of debt to the Loserpalooza who, no matter how hard you try to change him, will never measure up - to anything!
So, ok, you've dumped the schlump, now what? Sullivan tackles this issue as well, showing you were to go to meet those really fabulous guys, what to wear, and how to make a 'quality' man fall in love with you. Handy tips that you'll find inside this witty book include How to Order a Drink, Rich Men to Avoid, Top Ten Conversation Topics to Avoid on a First Date, and tips on what to do, and more important, not to do when Visiting His Parents.
Dating Up is a fairly straightforward dating book. Sullivan offers advice on improving your self image, preparing for the dating scene, sex and gift giving, and if worse comes to worse, what to do if you catch him cheating! You'll even find a few surprises in this book, such as how to identify a really good diamond (you'll need that when the engagement ring comes out) and a bevy of very good recipes for everything from scones to burritos.
To the point, and informative, Dating Up is an excellent dating primer that will equally serve those new to dating as well as those seeking to upgrade. Throughout, Sullivan provides solid advice offered in a witty and fun to read book!
